To create a biodegradable and scalable embellishment system, we combined algae selected for its rapid growth and carbon-sequestering properties with Cellulose Nanocrystal. CNC’s crystalline structure and high aspect ratio enhances our materials transparency, color retention and mechanical strength.

PROCESS

After conducting over 130 tests, we developed a proprietary method of transforming algae and cellulose into transparent durable bio-composites with a combination of water resistance, compostability, and appropriate jade like touch-feel.

VISION

We aim to replace sources of plastic in textiles, fashion, interior, cosmetics, and beauty industries.
